UPDATED: One man is dead and another has been rushed to hospital, following a major emergency at a Sydney building site. Two workers were trapped under a pile of collapsed scaffolding and debris.

Emergency crews were called after scaffolding and a concrete structure collapsed on Epping Road in the Sydney suburb of Macquarie Park. The building site is an apartment complex.
Witnesses describe the sound of a loud crash and scenes of panic. At least two tradies are reported to be unaccounted for.
One person was earlier freed from debris, while another has been confirmed deceased.
There were chaotic scenes after the accident as distressed workers were confronted by the scale of the accident. Emergency services arrived quickly and cleared the site.
‘FRNSW crews are assisting @NSWAmbulance with a delicate rescue operation at a construction site in Epping Rd. Two people are trapped under a large amount of fallen scaffolding,’ confirmed a spokesperson on Twitter.
New South Wales Police said in a statement: ‘Emergency services were called to Epping Road about 12.20pm after scaffolding collapsed on workers.
‘As the operation is continuing, members of the public are urged to avoid the area.’
