Fans of the Nine series appear to be fed up of the OTT dramatic story lines and “fake” participants, with many saying they are planning to boycott the 2020 season of the social experiment.

‘This is why I stopped watching… the drama has been ramped up ten fold!’ one fan wrote on Facebook.

While others think the show has become too fake since it first aired in 2015. ‘You’ve lost the plot… Do us a favour and cancel it!’ said one viewer.

‘I won’t be watching MAFS anymore, it’s the fakest show I have ever seen,’ fumed another.

‘The success rate for MAFS is extremely low. I don’t know why people still watch the show. It’s gone mainstream reality TV now,’ one person commented.

However, despite disgruntled fans, ratings appear to be higher than ever.

Monday night’s season seven premiere saw 1.154 million metro viewers tune in to watch the first two weddings.

This represents the highest premiere ratings since the show’s debut in 2015.
