Details surrounding the birth and naming of Baby Sussex were kept a closely guarded secret by his parents, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
However, there’s one member of the royal family that may have had some inside knowledge months before the rest of us: step forward, Prince George.
While we could never have predicted the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s surprising choice of name for their son – Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor – the cheeky heir to the throne apparently told a dog walker back in January “I’m called Archie.”
The dog walker told The Sun : “Just to be friendly I engaged in a bit of small talk and I asked George what his name was, even though obviously I knew it.
“To my astonishment he said ‘I’m called Archie’ with a big smile on his face. I don’t know why he calls himself Archie but kids often play with their names and I think it’s lovely.”
She added that Prince George’s police minder told her not to take pictures of the children.
While this could just have been an innocent game for the young prince, it seems to be a huge coincidence that Harry and Meghan should settle on George’s imaginary name for himself.
