Despite the fact that Prince Harry will slip a wedding band on Meghan Markle’s finger when they tie the knot during their royal wedding ceremony on May 19, it is still unclear whether Harry will wear one himself.
Most male members of the royal family have chosen to forego wearing a wedding band, including Prince William, Prince Philip and his uncle the Duke of York.
In Britain, it’s not customary male members of the aristocracy to wear a wedding band, whilst the Palace revealed in 2011 that William would not wear a ring due to “personal preference”.
Although William prefers not to wear jewellery, Harry has been photographed wearing bracelets in the past.
So what will Meghan’s wedding band look like? The Suits star’s ring will most likely follow royal tradition meaning it will be thin and simple, made from Welsh gold.
Kate Middleton’s wedding ring was made from a nugget of Welsh gold given to William by the Queen as a gift to mark his 2011 wedding.
