The NCIS star kicked off 2020 by getting down on one knee, proposing to his girlfriend Amanda Pacheco on January 1 in a romantic beachside setting in La Jolla, California.
The happy couple both shared the snap of the moment on Instagram, along with matching captions:
“‘It’s just us now’ 01-01-2020”
Amanda added a second shot to her post, showing off the beautiful (not to mention enormous…) pear-cut diamond ring that now takes pride of place on her left hand.
There’s no doubt Wilmer, who will be 40 at the end of the month, went all out picking the piece – the seriously sparkly bling also features diamonds set into the band.
Amanda, 28, and Wilmer have been romantically linked since April 2019, and have popped up in several cute couple shots on each other’s Instagram feeds ever since.
“He keeps his promises, I’m gunna keep him siempre,” the model wrote on one sweet snap of the duo.
“I love doing life with you,” she captioned another from a day at Disneyland.
Speaking to E! News last year when the couple popped onto the scene, an insider spilled on their then-newfound relationship.
“He definitely wants to make sure she feels taken care of,” the source revealed.
“Even if they are just doing simple things, they have a lot of fun and are always smiling.”
Wilmer has been linked to several high-profile stars on his road to finding love – perhaps most famously dating Demi Lovato for six years before the pair split in June 2016.
Though their romance mis well and truly over, the duo remained close friends, with the actor by Demi’s side when she was hospitalised following an overdose at her Hollywood Hills home in 2018.
The day after Demi checked into the hospital, Wilmer was by her side, with a source telling PEOPLE at the time that he rushed to Lovato’s side after initially being very “shocked” by his ex’s overdose.
A second source also told PEOPLE that he “spent hours at the hospital with Demi every day. He seems very concerned about her.”
