Police are investigating a bizarre mystery amid contested reports that three people were allegedly stabbed with needles containing a stupefying substance in the Perth district of Northridge.

Among them was Shayna Karniewicz, who was celebrating her 18th birthday at the Universal Bar when she claims she felt someone grab her arm, followed by a sharp prick in her skin.
She was found paralysed on the venue’s bathroom floor by her sister, and was rushed to hospital.
‘Shay started to feel numb and her eyes started shaking,’ posted her sister Miki. ‘The staff and manager came in and called the ambulance.
‘We carried her out the back and sat her down where we waited for an ambulance. She had to be held up by two people. One holding her head, one holding her body straight.’

But security video has provided a shocking twist in the case; with club management insisting it offers no apparent evidence of the incident. The teen, who suffers from epilepsy, remains convinced she was attacked.
‘We have watched our CCTV footage and there is nothing that we can see on the vision that shows what she claimed happened and we have provided that to police,’ a rep for Universal Bar said.
There is, however, apparent physical evidence of something traumatic – with what appears to be puncture wounds visible on her arm.
It’s been widely reported that two other people have claimed to be the victims of similar attacks in the direct vicinity, but police say there are no records of the alleged incidents having been formally reported.
