Following months of speculation over whether Zac Efron has undergone plastic surgery, the High School Musical star, 35, has debuted an even more drastic transformation.
Zac has been recently photographed on set for his new movie and he looks very different – sporting with a new hairstyle and a very different physique.
His dramatic bulk is for his upcoming movie, The Iron Claw, in which Zac is set to portray the famed 1960s wrestler Kevin Von Erich.
Efron, who has recently opened up about shattering his jaw amid plastic surgery rumours has worried fans with his latest transformations, as he has spoken in the past on the impacts of extreme dieting.
Last month, he revealed that he fell into a deep depression and suffered insomnia while training for his role in the 2017 film, Baywatch.
“That Baywatch look, I don’t know if that’s really attainable,” he told Men’s Health.
“There’s just too little water in the skin. Like, it’s fake; it looks CGI’d.”
During the interview, he also admitted to taking a diuretic to help achieve his drastic look in the film, explaining how it took a toll on his mental health.
“I started to develop insomnia and I fell into a pretty bad depression, for a long time. Something about that experience burned me out.
“I had a really hard time recentering. Ultimately they chalked it up to taking way too many diuretics for way too long, and it messed something up.”
This wasn’t the first time Zac opened up about his unhealthy and drastic methods to achieve his Baywatch look, revealing that he completely cut carbs for six months.
“I almost lost my mind. You need this. I still can’t get over how this diet of carbs and low protein is the exact opposite of any trainer has ever taught me,” he said.
Watch Below: Magic Mike official trailer with Channing Tatum
Zac isn’t the only male star to recently open up about the unrealistic body shapes you see on screen.
Channing Tatum recently joined The Kelly Clarkson Show to speak on his unnatural physique in the Magic Mike films.
After Kelly Clarkson displayed a shirtless photo of the star and complimented him on his physique, he said it was “not natural.”
“That might be the reason why I didn’t want to do a third [movie] because I have to look like that,” he explained.
Kelly asked Tatum if he worked out every day and he responded by saying “no” and expressed how difficult it is to look like he did in the photo.
“No, but it’s hard to look like [that] even if you do work out – to be in that kind of shape is not natural,” the actor said.
“That’s not even healthy, you have to starve yourself. I don’t think when you’re that lean that it’s healthy.”
