Kidman told People that she had known husband Keith Urban for less than six months when she realised she wanted to marry him.
The Big Little Lies actress said it was after Urban took her on a trip to Woodstock, N.Y..
“It was my [38th] birthday, and he stood outside with gardenias at 5 a.m. on my stoop in New York,” Kidman said. “That is when I went, ‘This is the man I hope I get to marry.'”

The Australian couple were married at a church in the northern Sydney suburb of Manly, in June 2006.
The wedding was a Hollywood affair, with stars like Russell Crowe, Baz Luhrmann and Naomi Watts attending.
Hugh Jackman and Neil Finn from Crowded House performed.
The country singer serenaded his wife as well.
The couple have also faced challenges, with Urban spending time in rehab at the very beginning of their marriage.
The Grammy award winner had already been in rehab twice for past cocaine, MDMA, and alcohol abuse before Kidman staged an intervention in 2006.
"I caused the implosion of my fresh marriage," Urban told Rolling Stone in 2016. “It survived, but it’s a miracle it did...And for the first time in my life, I could shake off the shackles of addiction.”
Kidman told Vanity Fair in 2007, that their relationship blossomed because "two very lonely people managed to meet at a time when they could open themselves to each other. We were a mixture of frightened and brave.”
Kidman and Urban welcomed their first child, Sunday Rose on July 7, 2008.
Their second daughter, Faith Margaret was born via surrogate in 2011.
The Hollywood actress opened up about her fertility issues to Vogue in 2015, stating that she wished she could've had a bigger family with Keith.
"I wish I could have met [Keith] much earlier and had way more children with him, but I didn't," the actress said of meeting in their late 30s. "I mean, if I could have had two more children with him, that would have been just glorious."
Nicole and Keith keep their children hidden from the public, but that hasn't stopped the couple from their own public displays of affection.
They are often seen together on red carpets and sharing kisses at events.
