Move over rosettes, go heavy on metal.

If you turned on the TV to watch the Oscars Red Carpet arrivals yesterday or kept up to date via socials, then you would be pleasantly surprised by the celebrities’ looks this year. The stars really knocked it out of the park with their choices- from old Hollywood glam to head-to-toe sequins there was one theme that truly won the night, metallics.
The Oscars are the perfect time to bring out the big guns. However, the last few years felt safe, with a saturation of rosettes and bows- but not this year. Finally, it felt exciting, daring, and stylish. The A-listers played with new shapes, statement trains and reflective textures with a cool-factor edge, giving the award itself a run for its money.
Whether it was at the main event or the multiple exclusive after parties, masses of stars dipped into this molten trend that came out of 2023, including Margot Robbie, Florence Pugh and Zendaya to name a few.
And for us playing along at home, this helped cement the trend for 2024 whether it be just a pair of silver heels, a gold bag, or a petrol- like slip dress. Here are our top shiny picks inspired by the award itself and a few of our favourite stars.
Gold Goddess
Choose a gold top and style it subtly with jeans for a new take on the jeans-and-a-nice-top look. Or swap out your business shirt and style one with tailored trousers for after work drink switch up. Add layers of gold bracelets for extra oomph!
Silver accessories are everywhere and is the easiest way to dress up a monochromatic look. Grey, black, white and other cool tones are the perfect match for this flashy addition. However if you dare, silver pants is the hero piece to try!
