How much does it cost?
Comparable to other platforms, Paramount+ is pretty reasonably priced at $8.99AUD a month, which is not much when you consider how much TV you’ll be getting access to!
What sets it apart?
There are a lot of streaming services out there these days, and sometimes it’s hard to know which is the best to choose. However, Paramount+ has already proved itself to be quite the contender, with exclusive reboots (iCarly, Dexter, Twin Peaks), spin-offs (The Good Fight), and the much-anticipated return of beloved Australian series Five Bedrooms.
The TV shows!
Here are just some of the TV shows you can find on Paramount+.
iCarly was a Nickolodeon classic from back in the day, starring Miranda Cosgrove as a precocious teenager who hosted a regular web-series with her friends. Now she, along with brother Spencer and best friend Freddie, are back and facing up to the problems that are cropping up in their 20s. Paramount+ is the place to see where they’re at!
We’ve had to wait quite some time for the return of this iconic Aussie series, which saw five ‘friends’ go in on a house together in order to beat Australia’s ridiculous property market. The housemates are back in a new home on Paramount+, with plenty of antics just waiting to be shared.
The Good Fight
Set after the events of The Good Wife, a financial scam sends Diana Lockhart and niece Maia Rindell into a struggle where they must build up their law careers from scratch. Starring Christine Baranski and Rose Leslie, this spin-off is a must-watch.
Twin Peaks: The Return
This cult classic from the 90s is back and making waves once more, with the quirky David Lynch still at the helm. It’s set 25 years after the events of the first series, and has been hailed as a suspenseful success already.
If you’re more in the mood for a classic show, Paramount+ also has all five seasons of Broad City – the hilarious sitcom that followed the lives of Abbi and Ilana in all their messy, mid-twenties glory in New York. Tune in for the laughs, stay for the nostalgia.
The Lord of the Rings Trilogy
The Lord of the Rings trilogy promises hours of content in its’ own right! With a lot of Australians still living in lockdown at the moment, there’s no better time for a movie marathon, and The Lord of the Rings is an excellent place to start.
The Dark Knight Trilogy
We all know Christian Bale is the best Batman, and with Heath Ledger’s legendary Joker making an appearance, why would you skip out on a trilogy this good?
Paramount+ is also promising its’ own exclusive movies, and Infinite is one of them. Channel Ten has been playing the trailers for this film all week, and we must say we’re pretty keen to watch a film where Mark Wahlberg (for some reason) drives a motorbike off a cliff and onto the wing of a moving plane.
