Controversial politician Pauline Hanson has been rushed to hospital, and is now recovering after what’s being called an ‘emergency operation’ to remove her appendix.
The One Nation senator revealed she had felt ‘enormously unwell’ over the weekend.
‘At first, I thought it was a case of food poisoning so I just took it easy. I woke yesterday morning to continued pains in my stomach and decided to see a GP," she wrote on Facebook.
‘I was told I needed further scans and blood tests and was taken immediately to the hospital.
‘Surgeons determined I needed an emergency operation to remove my appendix.

‘Compared to the pain I was in before the surgery, today's pain is a lot less and I plan on being back on my feet tomorrow.’
Hanson has been plagued of late – recently she was bitten on the face by a tick, requiring her to go to ground amid the NRA scandal. She eventually emerged at a press conference with a large, volcanic welt on her cheek.
Before that she clashed with David Koch on Sunrise in the wake of the Christchurch mosque massacre, over perceptions her past anti-Muslim rhetoric has heightened social tensions.
