Phoebe, who commands a large Instagram following of 82k and is an ambassador to several brands, including Ostelin and Johnson & Johnson, has also turned the comments function on her account back on. She had previously restricted fans from engaging with her page as the heat around her and her ex-husband grew.
Many weighed in on her most recent post, praising the journalist for handling the situation with class.
"Phoebe, I have admired you so much for many years, even more now," one wrote. "You’ve got an army of people who you know and love, and those you have never met, all behind you. You are an incredible role model to your kids, and countless women like myself. You got this girl ❤️"
"Great to see you back Phoebe - thinking of you and your little ones! X" added another.
The sensational claims about Sam Burgess were first published in The Australian after a four-month investigation unveiled medical records, police statements, legal papers, emails and witness accounts detailing the 31-year-old football star’s allegedly disturbing behaviour.
The report included text messages Phoebe sent to the NRL club’s owner, Hollywood actor Russell Crowe, expressing serious concern for her ex-husband’s welfare.
“I thought we had the world at our feet together…,” one read. “He is now being led by his elder brother on a trail of booze, heavy drugs and girls on social media… and some very deep dark demons I just cannot help him with.”
Staff members at the Rabbitohs have been accused of covering up the footballer's alleged indiscretions, which date back to 2018. Burgess' lawyer, Mark O'Brien, has denied all claims made against his client, although the NRL and NSW Police are now investigating.
The couple separated in December 2018 shortly after welcoming their son, William (Billy), to the world. They also share a daughter, Poppy, 3, together.
Phoebe has now carved what is said to be a lucrative career out of being an influencer. Earlier this year, The Daily Mail estimated that the mother-of-two could have been making as much as $6370 per week from sharing sponsored posts on her Instagram account.
