The royal couple will be taking February 17 to February 21 off to coincide with George and Charlotte’s half-term break from school. Both royal children attend the Thomas's Battersea school in London.
William and Kate’s well-earned break comes amidst news that the royal couple are in the middle of talks with the Australian federal government to arrange a tour of Australia’s bushfire affected towns. An official invitation from Prime Minister Scott Morrison is expected in the coming days according to the Sydney Morning Herald.
Last month, William and Kate shared a heartfelt message to the people of Australia after news of the unprecedented bushfires spread around the world.
“We continue to be shocked and deeply saddened to hear about the fires that are destroying homes, livelihoods and wildlife across much of Australia,’ the couple wrote via their Kensington Royal Instagram page.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with all the people and communities who are affected by this devastating event.
“We send our deepest condolences to the families and friends of those who have tragically lost their lives, and the brave firefighters who continue to risk their own lives to save the lives of others.”
William and Kate last visited Australia together in 2014.
