Kate, who wore a custom sky blue wool crepe coat by Emilia Wickstead, met leading young locals who work in culture, education, business and the charitable sector during her visit.
At the cycling-themed festival, sport-loving Kate chatted with the Grand Duchy’s cycling icons and children who are designing Tour de France jerseys. The tour swings through Luxembourg in July.
Her visit is also about the “soft diplomatic” power of the royal family in action as Britain bids to maintain close ties with its European neighbors as negotiations loom over Brexit — the departure from the political and economic union with 27 other nations. She joined Prince William in Paris earlier this year and in July the couple is set to visit Germany and Poland.
