“The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are very grateful for the goodwill they have received from people throughout the United Kingdom and around the world as they prepare to welcome their baby,” a recent statement on Harry and Meghan’s Instagram page read.
“Their Royal Highnesses have taken a personal decision to keep the plans around the arrival of their baby private.
“The Duke and Duchess look forward to sharing the exciting news with everyone once they have had an opportunity to celebrate privately as a new family."
With the couple keen to keep the birth details private, it is unlikely that Meghan will pose outside the hospital after the birth – in fact, many believe the first picture of the baby will appear on the couple’s Instagram account.
Watch: Has Meghan already given birth?
However, royal tradition states that the monarch has to be the first person to be informed about the royal birth.
Therefore, as with Kate and William’s children, it is likely that the baby’s birth will be revealed by the Royal Family’s official Twitter account.
