The movie, which is adapted from the 2019 novel of the same name by Casey McQuiston follows Alex Claremont-Diaz (portrayed by Taylor Zakhar Perez), the son of the President of the United States (played by Uma Thurman), and Britain's Prince Henry (played by Nicholas Galitzine).
Although the two may share many similarities: remarkable good looks, undeniable charisma, and global popularity, they harbour a mutual disdain for each other. Despite living on different continents, their ongoing feud takes an unexpected turn when a disastrous and highly publicised altercation at a royal event becomes fodder for tabloids, risking strained U.S./British relations at a critical moment. In an effort to mitigate the damage, their families and advisors pressure the two rivals into a contrived "truce."
As Alex and Henry reluctantly embrace this staged ceasefire, their icy relationship begins to thaw unexpectedly, gradually evolving into a tentative friendship. The friction that once defined their dynamic unexpectedly ignites something deeper than they ever imagined.
