"He's received a lot of psychological assistance and he has struggled with what he's done and facing that," Johnson shared, "but he hopes to be able to dedicate the rest of his life to making amends."
"It hurts me to think about how badly I've wasted my life," Ryan explained during a statement earlier this year during his court hearing.
"In the face of something so horrible, saying sorry seems so pointless. But from every fibre of my being, I am sorry."
Ryan appeared in season four of Riverdale as Jeffery - the man responsible for the death of Archie’s dad, Fred Andrews.
The episode was written following the death of Beverly Hills, 90210 star Luke Perry who played Fred in the first three seasons of the show.
Luke passed away in 2019 following a stroke, he was 52. During the season four premiere, Ryan’s character Jeffrey fatally hits Fred with his car as the father attempted to help a stranded woman on the side of the road.
The tribute episode also guest-starred Beverly Hills, 90210 co-star Shannen Doherty.
Ryan also starred in the 2010 film adaption of Diary of a Wimpy Kid, playing the role of Rodney James.
