She starred in the original 2016 Body Bliss launch and “was so happy to be asked back,” she tells WHO.
“Ordinarily, it might be awkward to stand around in your undies on a rock with people you just met, but the support from these women make me feel proud of who I am.”
Shot in the brand’s Body Bliss Luxe with fellow models Elyse Knowles and Robyn Lawley, fashion blogger Elle Ferguson and fitness influencer Bianca Cheah at Sydney’s Bondi Beach, Harris says the garments “are designed for all shapes and forms of women.”
Realistic role models are important, “especially in this digital age. Diversity is all around us,” she says. “We are constantly comparing ourselves to others we see. We need to recognise that we are all unique and diverse yet it is exactly this that unites us! Diversity needs to be more mainstream and we need to teach the younger generation of women that differences in size, shape and colour does not matter.”
Getting down to her smalls in public didn’t faze her. “It’s women being women. It’s me saying, ‘Here I am. Take it or leave it,’” says Harris. “And not being bothered by that.”
She keeps beach-ready by fitting in “some form of exercise every day, not just for my body but for my mind,” but will admit to “a weakness for red wine and dark chocolate.”
The Tweed Heads-born model, who quietly married boyfriend Luke Hunt in 2014 just before his prison sentence for dangerous driving resulting in the death of Kenneth Lay, has just returned from the Tjungu Festival at Uluru, “which was incredible working with indigenous communities so I’m looking forward to continuing a mentoring program with some of the young girls from this group.”
On the personal front, “I have a couple of things on the horizon,” she hints, “but you’ll just have stay tuned to see!”
