Sarah Michelle Gellar is a working mum and she isn't afraid to admit it can be a pretty difficult to successfully manage a healthy work and life balance.
Speaking to PEOPLE magazine, Michelle Gellar says: “I feel like home and work balance is an ever evolving process. Most importantly, wherever I am, I know I need to give 100 per cent of myself.”
Gellar, 39, who's the co-founder at e-commerce upstart Foodstirs which sells Baking and Food Decorating Kits, offers her personal method for creating balance: “Wherever I am, I know I need to give 100 per cent of myself,” she says. “When I am at home, I need to put the phone down and be focused, and when I am at work, that deserves my undivided attention.”
The mother of two reveals one piece of advice for all busy mums: “I also need to acknowledge that I am only human, and at times I am spread too thin and need to give myself a moment of down time.”
She also admits it’s a struggle for a “type A personality like myself,” to working from home. “It can prove incredibly challenging when my kids are at home. They are truly respectful of my working. It’s me who wants to know what they are doing and join them.”
Gellar shares children, Charlotte, 7, and Rocky, 4, with husband, Freddie Prinze Jr., 40, who has also recently been involved in the food industry by releasing his cookbook, Back to the Kitchen: 75 Delicious, Real Recipes (& True Stories) from a Food-Obsessed Actor.
