The telling move comes days after he was spotted hanging with Kourtney on her 41st birthday— a move that left many wondering whether his girlfriend of three years, Sofia, was bothered by their reunion.
Thankfully, a source close to the 21-year-old said she's accepting of their friendship and understands they'll always be in each other's lives seeing as they share three children together.
"Sofia had no issue with Scott and Kourtney spending time together for her birthday. She knows they have a lot of history together and appreciates how well they co-parent. She respects the relationship they have. Sofia is very secure in the bond she shares with Scott,” an insider told Hollywood Life.
“Sofia is very cool with Scott’s relationship with Kourtney. There really isn’t any animosity or weirdness. At first, maybe, but that was ages ago,” another pal added. "She is very mature and understands that it is very important for kids to have both their parents even if they aren’t together. Scott loves that Sofia is that way."
They've come a long way in recent months, with a pal claiming they've been using this time in isolation to work on their once rocky relationship. They've grown much closer since hunkering down in their Calabasas mansion and are said to be focusing on resolving "lingering obstacles in their relationship"
After hashing out their differences, Sofia and the Talentless founder— who began dating in 2017— have altered the way they approach hurdles, which has also led Scott to "change his attitude a bit".
"This quarantine is bringing Sofia and Scott even closer and he’s really proven that he can be there for her in tough times, just as much as he is in the good times. He finally realised what he was doing and now things are a lot better. They are much more of a team than just being individuals in a relationship.”
Although they’re deeply private about their relationship, Sofia’s mum Diane Alexander— who also shares son Miles with her ex-husband, Lionel Richie— gave her seal of approval a long time ago, telling Heat Magazine she adores him.
"I love him! We all have our stuff but he’s a really good guy. He's such a good dad. I don’t know if people really know that. He’s at home with them every night – homework, bedtime," she said of Scott who shares children Mason, 10, Penelope, seven, and Reign, four, with ex-partner Kourtney.
While she acknowledged there's a hefty 15 year age gap between the couple, Diane said her daughter is wise beyond her years.
"She's so independent, taking care of herself. I'm so proud of her," she said. "It's very well-adjusted in my eyes, all of it. Everyone seems in a healthy place. She’s really wise and she doesn’t do anything wrong relationship-wise – she knows right from wrong. Sofia means wisdom. I learn a lot from her."
