While she recently told PEOPLE she was over the moon about becoming a first-time mum, the retired athlete's pregnancy journey was far from easy.
After their 20-week checkup, Shawn told her followers that her baby had underdeveloped and dilated kidneys, as well as a two-rather than three-vessel umbilical cord.
With both complications happen simultaneously, the doctor warned the couple there was a high chance the bub could have down syndrome. Six days after breaking the news and "praying every five minutes of the day", their genetic testing results came back negative.
