What was the last book you read?
Honeybee - it was such an emotional rollercoaster of a story and I highly recommend to anyone. The biggest take away is compassion for others and everyone has a right to live a life they choose to live if they aren’t harming others.
What the last thing you learned about yourself?
Thinking I was immune to Covid after 2.5yrs avoiding it, seems like I wasn’t in the end. And for those who say the flu is worse, I obviously didn’t catch the one you did. I learned that rest is an unappreciated luxury that I had to learn to cope with.
What was the last gift you got?
I received the book Love Stories by Trent Dalton. My daughter and I read chapters to each other on a quiet Saturday while drinking tea. What was the last meal you cooked?
I finally had a dinner party with a group of friends and it consisted of steamed fish with lemongrass and coriander, smoked aubergine and roasted potatoes. Unfortunately, the word ‘party’ kicked in a little early so I have admit it became a collaborative effort of getting the food on the table. The best way to share food in the end.
When was the last time you stayed up late?
I was so lucky to spend a weekend with friends to see a concert and then drink and talk till the early hours of the morning. It felt decadent and like we had gone back in time to when this was considered a normal weekend.
When was the last time you danced?
In the lounge room with a group of crazy friends. Friends, music, laughter and dancing has to be the best medicine.
What was the last game you played?
It was a Game of Thrones version of Monopoly and my daughter-in-law smashed it and danced around the room as she beat my son. Doesn’t matter how many times he will beat her in the future, when you win over a very competitive person the win lasts eternal.
What was your last online purchase?
It was a tutu, for a very special person in my life. I hope she dances in the street, jumps through muddy puddles, brushes her teeth, and slays dragons and monsters while embracing her feminine power.
