These chic period undies look and feel like lingerie

Say goodbye to bulky seams and boring designs, and hello to cute, leak-proof comfort!

There’s functional underwear, and then there’s lingerie you actually want to wear.

And until now, absorbent, period undies have almost always fallen into the first category – practical, yes, but hardly *sexy*.

Enter Wicks Intimates, the Melbourne-based label redefining what period undies can be.

Founded by Kiwi-born, Melbourne local Lisa Taylor, Wicks is billed as Australia’s first truly luxurious absorbent lingerie brand.

And she’s not exaggerating. Crafted from GOTS-certified organic cotton and the brand’s signature OEKO-TEX butter-blend, the pieces look and feel like something you’d happily buy even if absorbency wasn’t part of the equation.

Soft, breathable, and discreet, they’re designed to slip seamlessly into your lingerie drawer, not stick out as “that time of the month” underwear you’d rather hide at the back.

The difference? Wicks isn’t just about period care.

Lisa wanted to create something for every chapter of womanhood; from first periods to postpartum recovery, perimenopause, and light bladder leakage.

As she puts it, too many women have felt excluded from the absorbent underwear movement because existing designs skew teen-focused or clinical.

Wicks, on the other hand, is made with elegance and dignity in mind.

Her inspiration was deeply personal.

“I wore period underwear every day during those first weeks of motherhood and I just found them so uncomfortable and inelegant,” Lisa recalls.

That frustration sparked the idea for Wicks

The silhouettes are chic, the fabrics indulgent, and the functionality discreet enough to forget you’re even wearing them.

So, for anyone who has ever wished period undies could feel a little less like “just period undies” and a little more like lingerie, Wicks Intimates might just be the game-changer you’ve been waiting for…
