THE Spanish resort of Benidorm is a popular destination during the European summer but authorities have laid down the law for tourists visiting the hot spot.
Under a new ruling approved in late March, authorities have banned the use of electric scooters, hover boards and mobility scooters on pavements as part of the crackdown.

Although hugely popular with tourists, Segways will also be banned on pavements in the town, located in the province of Alicante in eastern Spain on the Mediterranean coast, with frustrated locals labelling electric scooters a “menace.”
Those who ignore the rules in pedestrianised areas will now be fined AU$728, according to local publication, The Olive Press.
