1. They're headed to Russia
As we know from the season three finale, (and all of season three), Russia is playing some dirty tricks with this new dangerous technology Hawkins have uncovered. While the Mind Flayer has been seemingly dealt with, the Russians have attained their very own Demi-Dog. They also have an "American" held hostage that everyone is assuming is Chief Hopper (David Harbour).
Will the gang go on an adventure to rescue him once they find out he's alive? We can only dream.
2. They're finally dealing with the 'Upside Down'
While it's been a part of the show since season one, it's been rumoured that season four is the final one for the series. Does this mean Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) will FINALLY have to close the gate on the Upside Down? If so, maybe the crew will have to all head to the parallel world to put an end to the madness once and for all.
3. They're leaving Hawkins behind
Joyce Byers (Winona Ryder) takes her boys Jonathan (Charlie Heaton) and Will (Noah Schnapp) the hell out of Hawkins when they think they've lost Hopper. In doing so, she brings Eleven with her too. The rest of them stay in Hawkins, but we can assume something bad is going to happen that might make them go find Eleven to help her get her powers back.
Whatever the case, we're very keen to see how the show wraps up.
Along with announcing the new season, Netflix has added used this opportunity to announce a new deal with co-creators Matt and Ross Duffer. The brothers have signed a multiyear overall film and series deal with Netflix!
“The Duffer Brothers have captivated viewers around the world with Stranger Things and we’re thrilled to expand our relationship with them to bring their vivid imaginations to other film and series projects our members will love,” said Netflix's chief content officer Ted Sarandos in a press release. “We can’t wait to see what The Duffer Brothers have in store when they step outside the world of The Upside Down.”
Does this mean a Stranger Things movie could one day be made? Why the hell not?
Just look at Breaking Bad. Years after the finale, a standalone movie El Camino is being released on the streaming service!
