How to achieve the strawberry girl makeup look and the products to shop
If you're looking for a low maintenance beauty look to add to your repertoire, below we're taking a look at how to achieve it and the products to shop to achieve that fresh, fruity glow.
Hydrating skincare
The key to nailing this lightweight makeup look starts with the skincare prep. Apply a glow-inducing toner and follow with a lightweight moisturiser to achieve that hydrated, nourished base.
Cinch Spray & Glow, $39.95, a-beauty
Prep your skin with this easy to apply mist that acts as a primer and moisturiser, as well as having anti-aging benefits thanks to Vitamin E. This is also a great spray to reapply throughout the day to refresh your base.
Ole Henriksen C-Rush brightening gel crème, $70, THE ICONIC
A lightweight and brightening moisturiser like this Vitamin C packed gel crème from Ole Henriksen makes a great base under makeup. Not only will this hydrate parched skin, but it also targets fine lines, brightens and firms your skin.
A natural base
For this look you want to keep it light, natural and comfortable feeling. So go sans foundation all together and apply your base products in a cream formula, over your skincare.
Tom Ford Shade and Illuminate contour duo, $154, MYER
Hailey used this contour duo during her makeup tutorial on how to achieve her strawberry makeup look. This cult palette offers a lightweight and easy to blend formula if you're wanting to achieve a natural sculpt.
Patrick Ta Crème contour and powder bronzer duo, $67, Sephora
However, Tom Ford is more on the expensive side. So if you're wanting to save some cash but still cut those cheek bones, we recommend the viral Patrick Ta powder and cream duo.
Maybelline Fit Me concealer, $19.99, Adore Beauty
Apply a concealer one shade lighter than your usual foundation colour to add highlight and dimension after bronzing. You can pop a small spot under the eyes, around the nose, on the forehead and under where you applied the contour to provide contrast.
Elizabeth Arden Dual End foundation brush, $58, MYER
Find a dual ended brush like this one from Elizabeth Arden to blend out both your contour and concealer and cut down on lugging tools around with you.
Strawberry girl blush
Arguable the most important part of the look, a bright cream blush will add colour back into your face and help you achieve that spent-all-day-in-the-sun flush to your cheeks without the sunburn.
Although Hailey teased the launch of an upcoming Rhode cream blush in her tutorial, there are many stunning options that can help you achieve the same result.
Beach Stick in Las Salinas, $52, Charlotte Tilbury
The queen of glam, Charlotte Tilbury, has relaunched the infamous Beach Sticks and just in time for strawberry makeup season. The Las Salinas shade offers a stunning sun kissed rosy-pink flush and has a very subtle shimmer to add glow.
Ere Perez Carrot colour pot, $44, a-beauty
If you prefer something a little brighter, we can't get enough of this stunning cherry red hue from Ere Perez that practically melts into the skin and achieves a glowing bright cheek.
Beauty Light Wand in Pillow Talk, $60, Charlotte Tilbury
Hailey applies a 'peachy highlighter' back over her cheeks once she has applied a blush, this helps to to breath some light back into the skin and catch the sun.
Sephora Collection Intense Ink waterproof liquid eyeliner, $24, Sephora
Now this is a hack we can get on board with, Hailey uses a subtle brown eyeliner like this one to draw on freckles across her nose and cheeks to truly nail the summer skin. Apply sporadic and very small spots across where the sun hits and pat them in to make it look a bit more subtle if you want the faux freckle look.
You can also use this to apply a very small and thin wing from the corner of your eye if you want to add further dimension and create more of a cat eye shape.
Glossy lips and simple eyes
As the focus is one the cheeks and base, the eye and lip looks are super simple and help to tie the whole look together.
Clear brow gel, $39, Anastasia Beverly Hills
Hailey brushes this iconic brow gel through to give a very subtle shape to her brows, without adding too much colour or making them a focus of the face.
Make Up For Ever Artist colour pencil, $35, Sephora
A subtle pencil in a shade just darker than your natural lip colour can help add some structure to the lips.
After this you can tap on some more of that blush colour across your lips to bring some colour back and tie in the whole look.
Laneige Lip Glowy balm, $25, Adore Beauty
Lastly, apply an ultra-hydrating lip balm to get the ultimate kissable pout. This delicious Laneige balm has a oh-so-subtle berry tint, which is just perfect.
