After 15 glorious seasons, Supernatural is coming to an end.
Stars of the fan favourite television series, Jared Padalecki, Jensen Ackles and Misha Collins came together to record an emotional video overnight, letting fans know that they will cease filming and production after season 15 ends.
"We just told the crew that though we are very, very excited about moving into our 15th season, it will be our last," Ackles said in the video. "15 years of a show that certainly changed my life. I know it's changed these two guys' life. We just wanted to hear it from us. Though we're excited about next year, it will be the finale. The big grand finale of an institution."
The star also shared some words from the series creator Eric Kripke who said: “In a show about family, it is amazing, and it is the pride of his life, that it became family. So thank you guys for that.”
Naturally, fans are freaking out over the devastating news.
After the outpouring of love and support for the series and its creator, Kripke Tweeted out one final message.
"To all sending their love: thanks, my love back atcha. For those who seem sad: you'll still have the friends you made, still debate salt circles vs. devil's traps, Sam vs. Dean, still have each other's backs, still watch out for each other. That won't change."
The last season of the longest running American live-action fantasy will feature 20 episodes. Overall, the series will have produced 305 incredible episodes!
