News first arose of this new international power couple made Down Under when Idris Elba’s wife Sabrina shared a photo of the four at Chris Hemsworth’s assistant’s birthday party in March. Infamous celebrity gossip Instagram deuxmoi shared an anonymous tip that the duo were “all over each other” and “legit making out” at a bar on Oxford St in Sydney.
Then, a source told The Sun that the pair had been “secretly dating… for over a month.” The pair have also been spotted around town hanging with famous friends, from Sacha Baron Cohen and Isla Fisher to Ross Noble.
“They've been a couple since early March but kept things low key,” the source said. “However, all their friends know about the relationship. They're really into each other.”
WHO can also confirm that Taika and Rita were seen cosying it up last Friday at Stan Australia’s RuPaul’s Drag Race Down Under World Premiere at the Sydney Opera House. We spotted the pair putting their hands on each other’s back, chatting and waltzing off together like gleeful lovebirds - it was very cute.

For those folks at home wondering, according to Page Six, Taika “quietly separated” from his wife, Academy Award-nominated producer Chelsea Winstanley, two years ago.
The pair first met over two decades ago when Chelsea interviewed him for a doco about Māori artists, and then reunited while working on Boy together in 2010. Both 44, Taika and Chelsea share two daughters, Te Hinekāhu, seven, and Matewa Kiritapu, four, and got married two years after they reconnected. Rita Ora, meanwhile, was previously romantically linked with Greek-French film director Romain Gavras.
Taika Waititi is in Sydney filming Marvel’s Thor: Love and Thunder, which stars Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tessa Thompson, Russell Crowe and more, while Rita Ora is here as a judge on the new season of The Voice Australia.
