“I was just so lucky to be able to work on a few different projects in Queensland,” she says.
“We were based there for about seven months. And then Neighbours came about, which is in Melbourne, so the kids stayed up there,” she explained.
Tammin briefly joined the beloved soap not too long before its axing was announced, getting the opportunity to film with them for a number of weeks.
She’s also since announced she was a part of Joe vs. Carole, the highly-anticipated Stan series about the famous feud between American big cat keepers Joe Exotic and Carole Baskin.
“It’s not one of the main characters, you don’t know how much you’ll be in the show, but I’m hopeful that they’ll keep a lot of it in,” Tammin says of Joe vs. Carole.
The role also helped her regain a piece of her confidence, which had been altered since she became a mum eight years ago.
“The character was very confident in her body and was able to show herself in a different light that – as you get older and as you have children – you almost feel like you don’t have permission to.
“When I have these characters that are a little more salacious, or have got more of an attitude … you get to play the characters and you find you can hide behind them sometimes,” she reflects.
“It can be really cathartic, and especially the character on Joe vs. Carole, I was able to play this character who was very comfortable within herself. And even though I wasn’t … it’s like I behaved like I was comfortable, so I started to become comfortable,” she explains.
Tammin’s role as a mum to Phoenix and three-year-old Lennon keeps her incredibly busy, but she’s also prolific on social media when it comes to her experiences with motherhood, marriage, and often anxiety as well.
“I want them to feel like I’m one of their friends, or someone they can talk to or someone that they can feel less alone through me sharing some of the struggles that I'm going through,” she says of her 1.3 million Instagram followers.
“I want them to feel connected … I don’t want them to feel like I’m in the public eye, and as though I’m just distant from the people who follow me. I’ve never been like that.
“I’ve always felt like if someone’s going to message me, I’ll try to message them back.”
Tammin’s relatability often shines through her reels, which have her dancing, chasing after her kids, and making fun of her husband.

As a busy and tired mum, Tammin has been working with Best&Less to promote her own need to be comfortable as she switches between set, school pick-up, podcast recording and editing her own reels.
“I haven’t stopped moving for the last two months,” she laughs.
“I just need to feel comfortable, I need to feel like I can move, and what I’m wearing sort of works for my lifestyle… and when they came to me I was like ‘sold!’,” she says of their new jeans range.
“Not only are they amazing, they’re also really an incredible price, like $25-$30.”
It doesn’t seem that things will be slowing down for Tammin anytime soon, with two more shoots lined up locally in the coming year.
“I think COVID has changed a lot when it comes to production and now there's floods in Queensland. So, we're just waiting to see exactly what that means,” she says.
“We’ll probably go back to America for a couple months and then come back here. We've always said that we want to live 50-50 in the States and in Australia, and we're just trying to figure out a way to do that,” she says.
