“Although this isn’t a silly or hilarious topic, I wanted to write a book that kids would engage with and remember. With the use of rhyme, humour and their favourite words like “poo” and “bum”, children will learn and remember just how important sun safety is,” the reality star added.
Tara’s high-profile friends and followers were quick to share their support in the comments.
“Cute!! This is so amazing!!! Well done super mum!! 😘,” wrote Ali Oetjen, a former star of The Bachelorette.
“🔥🔥🔥 congratulations legend. This is amazing,” wrote Laura Byrne, the winner of Tara’s original Bachelor season.
“Omg 👏 I’m so proud of you! @brooke__wills Cooper will be getting one! X,” said Sonya Driver.
Tara had been teasing the book for quite some time, sharing quotes and pages to her Instagram.
She announced the project a month ago, hinting that it would aim to raise awareness about the importance of sunscreen for children.
Through her work with children, she found the books that made them laugh were the ones that seemed to stick the most.
“It was a daily struggle getting sunscreen and a hat on many of the children I was looking after. Some would flat out refuse and tantrum. “What’s the worst that could happen?” I remember a boy saying,” she wrote.
“So I thought, alright then…I’m going to write my own children’s book. A funny children’s book to show kids why sun safety is so important, and also to help the parents/caregivers who battle the sunscreen and hat battle daily like I did for all of those years.”
Tara, who has worked in childcare and as a nanny in the past, gave birth to her first son with husband Nick Shepherdson in April this year.
Before her new endeavour as an author, and before becoming a mum, she shot to fame after coming third on Matty J’s season of The Bachelor.
She then appeared on Bachelor in Paradise, where Sam Cochrane proposed to her in the finale but they late split in acrimonious circumstances.
