This stunning action shot of Carlton Blues AFLW star Tayla Harris in full flight during a match against the Western Bulldogs is the centre of major controversy today, after it was so targeted by misogynist trolls, that it was hastily pulled from one major AFL Facebook page.
But the reaction to the move has been swift, with fans demanding the image be reinstated – which it has been – rather than giving in to abusive and crude posters.
Matildas star Sam Kerr summarised the mood of the nation when she tweeted, 'the problem was not the photo’.

Tayla herself had a great message for those who denigrated the image, tweeting: ‘Here’s a pic of me at work... think about this before your derogatory comments, animals.’
Wrote Nicole Livingstone: ‘This is a brilliant athlete in full flight. Something to celebrate. Just over three years ago women did not play Australian Football at the elite level. The result of this leap - a goal from 40m out.’
