In one of Evans’ Facebook posts she stated she wouldn’t buy Nike because the company works with Kaepernick who kneels during the national anthem to protest police brutality – an act which saw him lose his job.
"Lets choose the most disrespected guy in the NFL for our promos.’ ‘Lets add a slogan about sacrificing, everyone will love it.’ ‘Lets choose the man that kneels at our flag.’ YOU’RE WRONG,” stated Evans’ post, which was written nine months ago.
“I will not be buying Nike anymore. Chris Kyle’s wife wrote a huge letter about how she feels and I couldn’t agree more. HER husband actually DID sacrifice A LOT. Nike should change their ‘motto’ immediately. Nike needs a new PR person pronto.”
However, when Diab tried to engage the Teen Mom star in discussion about the posts, Evans flat-out denied ever having written them.
“I’ve never seen that....I don’t know anything about your husband. I swear to God,” she said.
“My man used his platform to peacefully protest systemic oppression in this country—specifically police brutality against black people,” Diab retorted.
“Men, women, and children are dying—wrongfully dying.” She added that the issue has “nothing to do with military men, military women because they fought for our Constitution to peacefully protest.”
Jenelle then proceeded to burst into tears and stormed off set.
