According to research from the American Chemical Society, the sugars (agavins) found in the plant that makes tequila can help lower your blood sugar.
Researchers found that mice who followed a standard diet and then drank water with added agavins ate less than those who didn't consume agavins.
The mice who were given the agavins also a hormone called GLP-1, which keeps the stomach full longer, meaning they ate less.
So next time you're deciding on your tipple of choice, maybe give tequila a go!
