Twenty-five years ago, Terri Irwin tied the knot with the love of her life.
In honor of what would have been her 25th wedding anniversary with late husband Steve Irwin on Sunday, Terri, 52, took to Twitter to share a throwback photo of the couple sharing a sweet kiss.
“Today would have been our 25th wedding anniversary,” she captioned the black and white image.
“I miss you so very much, and I am grateful every day for the time we had together,” wrote Terri, who shared “14 years of adventure and two beautiful children” before Steve passed away.
The couple wed in 1992 and had two children together over the course of their marriage: daughter Bindi Irwin, 18, and son Robert, 13.
But nearly 11 years ago, the world said goodbye to the beloved Crocodile Hunter on Sept. 4, 2006 when he passed at the age of 44 following the attack of a stingray off the coast of Australia while filming a documentary.
Still, Terri’s love for the father of their two children continues to burn brightly.
In August of last year, she revealed that she hasn’t been on a “single date” since he passed over a decade ago.
“I haven’t been on a single date since Steve died,” she told The Australian Woman’s Weekly.
“If I hadn’t met Steve, I probably would never have married because I wasn’t looking for love when I met him,” she told the publication of her relationship with Steve. “What we had was incredible.”
Last month, Bindi opened up about her mother’s long-lasting love for her father.
“My dad is still very much my mum’s soul mate. And I think that no matter what, Mum always says that they’ll always be married,” Bindi said in an interview with E!’s Daily Pop. “And to her, Mom and Dad, they’re always going to be together. So in this life and the next, they’re a couple and a team. So I think that’s really important.”
