"Marriage is something you do because you have found someone you truly love, not just because it's something you have planned in your 'timeline,'" she continued.
"Either way though, your opinions of marriage change when you meet someone you truly, truly want to spend your life with, so it's insane to me how much weight is being put on this."
Jolie was referring to Thursday's episode of The Bachelor, when Matt called in his friend Kate to give some suggestions as to who should get a rose.
During the episode, Sogand told Matt's friend Kate that Abbie hasn't always been honest.
"There's been times where she's said a few things around the house about getting married and wanting kids, and it was nothing... it wasn't on her radar," Sogand said in her conversation with Kate.
"Minutes after, she was asked at the group date by Matt where she sees herself in the next five years and she chose "married with kids", which at that point, I was like, 'Well, how? How do you just change your mind within minutes? That's crazy'."
Kate was left concerned after hearing Sogand's remarks, later telling Matt in a debrief:
"It is concerning to me that Sogand questioned whether Abbie is being truthful with what she's telling Matt. A couple of the things that Abbie and I spoke about in relation to marriage maybe contradicted themselves a little bit."
"I won't be surprised if Abbie's just a complete fake because I don't think it's genuine if you're telling one person one thing and another something else," she continued.
When Kate spoke to Abbie, she probed the blonde about her views on marriage and children, factoring in her age.
"Is five years or three years realistic for things like marriage and kids?" Kate asked.
"Honestly, marriage isn't essential to me. Like, I'm not the type of person to be like, 'I need to get married'," Abbie admitted.
"I am open to getting married, [but] I'm not dying to get married. Kids, the same thing."
In a follow-up interview with the Sunday Confidential, Sogand criticised Abbie for her "manipulative" behaviour, claiming she's "putting on an act" to try and win the astrophysicist over.
"I couldn't hold back after seeing how Abbie was one way in front of us girls when the cameras were rolling, then another way to Matt. She is a manipulator and it is time I tell her how it is," the civil engineer dished to the publication.
Sogand— who scored the first date with the hunky Bachelor— also noted that Abbie's age was a concern and may be the reason behind her behaviour.
"I think she is very young and I don't think she understands that some of us are older and can see through the bulls--t," she claimed.
The drama will continue to unfold next Wednesday at 7:30pm on Channel 10.
