Abbie Chatfield's date with Matt
She might have an undeniable connection with this year's Bachelor, but Abbie hasn't made herself a favourite in her fellow contestants' eyes. At the beginning of the season, she ruffled a few feathers (to put it mildly) when she outed her rival Monique Morley for calling Matt a "dog c**t" behind his back. Although the scandal brought her closer to Matt, she quickly became an outlier in the Bachelor mansion, with both Elly Miles and Sogant Mohtat slamming the 23-year-old for her "manipulative" behaviour.
"I couldn't hold back after seeing how Abbie was one way in front of us girls when the cameras were rolling, then another way to Matt. She is a manipulator and it is time I tell her how it is," Sogand recently told Sunday Confidential."I think she is very young and I don't think she understands that some of us are older and can see through the bulls**t," she concluded.
Regardless of Abbie's choices, it's clear she and Matt have chemistry! During their hometown visit, the loved up pair couldn't keep their hands off each other as they soaked up the sun in Queensland before enjoying a romantic picnic on the beach.
Emma Roche's date with Matt
After coming on a little too strong and telling Matt she's hoping to settle down, Emma was branded as this season's stage five clinger. However, after peeling back the layers and getting to know her, Matt's been smitten with the brand manager ever since!
Goal-oriented, emotionally mature, and determined to find The One, Emma has kept her nose out of the drama and, as a result, Matt has never doubted her intentions.
"I can't wipe the smile off my face," Matt said during an episode. "I know without a shadow of a doubt that Emma's here to find love and she's here to get to know me."
During their single date in NSW, Matt and Emma packed on the PDA and later embarked on a romantic stroll with Emma's two dogs, Teddy and Bear.
Chelsie McLeod's date with Matt
From the moment they laid eyes on each other, it was clear there was an unexplainable connection between Matt and Chelsie.
When they first met, the Victorian beauty presented Matt with a special gift— a temporary tattoo of the chemical formula for "oxytocin" i.e. the love chemical— and to her disbelief, he understood the formula!
"I can't believe he is smart," Chelsie told the cameras after their encounter. "That is so exciting. I actually didn't think he would be able to understand what I was talking about at all!
"It feels like she's reading the handbook of what Matt's looking for in a relationship," the 31-year-old gushed at the time as he reflected on their romantic date. "
After their single date, fans of the show were ready to put all of their money on Chelsie, and the Sportsbet odds (which have correctly predicted previous Bachelor winners) are still in her favour. Right now, Chelsie sits at the top with 1.30 odds, followed by Abbie at 3.00 and Helena at 8.00.
During their hometown visit, Matt and Chelsie spent time in her family's home and were later spotted kissing and cuddling after leaving dinner with her parents.
Helena Sauzier's date with Matt
Although her last single date with Matt turned into a disaster— when the pressure of planning out the next 10 years with Matt by her side became too much to handle—eagle-eyed fans are convinced she might have actually won The Bachelor's heart. After Matt shared a photo of himself at the beach during sunset late last month, everyone went into meltdown when they realised the hunky 32-year-old was holidaying in Helena's home town of Broome, Western Australia.
Whether their suspicions are accurate or not, Matt nearly blew his chance with the 25-year-old health and wellness coach last week.
When their date went horribly wrong, Helena broke down, revealing: "It's just this question after question and I'm just like, I'm literally drowning and I'm freaking out a little bit. The fact that he wanted to do this entire timeline with me is really quite touching but I also have my guard up a little bit because I haven't been in love before so plotting out our potential lives together, it's a bit stressful and I feel a huge amount of pressure."
The whole encounter was really awkward, so we have to give it to Matt— he managed to put on that cute smile we all know and love and move onto the next part of the date with Helena. And it was EPIC because he literally gave her the moon. Matt's out-of-this-world (sorry!) gesture gave her the courage to open up and spill on how she really feels about him... and why she's been so scared to admit it until now.
"I really like you. Like, straight up, I really like you," Helena spilled to Matt.
"I do see you are someone that I could fall in love with and I have honestly never had that before in my life so it's a good little feeling."
Despite their budding romance, the snaps we obtained from their most recent date appear to cast a shadow of doubt on their relationship. In the photos, Helena looks visibly upset as she cries in Matt's arms before he drops her home. It appears as though the couple were in the midst of an argument seeing as Matt quickly stormed off, leaving Helena alone.
