It's no secret this year's resident villain Abbie Chatfield has copped a barrage of criticism during her time on the series. Both in and and outside the Bachelor mansion, dozens of former contestants and fans alike have expressed their concerns about her true intentions, with many arguing that the property analyst applied for the series to expand her social profile, rather than win Matt Agnew's heart.
Although Bachelor evictee Helena Sauzier—who was booted off the show in part one of the Bachelor finals—says those were her initial thoughts, the French beauty wholeheartedly believes Abbie is there for the right reasons.
"I had my ups and downs with Abbie in the house, because I was always a bit confused about her intentions for being on the show and sometimes I thought she was playing a bit of a game," Helena told 10 Daily. "But as time went on, we put that behind us, and feelings start to get very real— and I could see that Abbe's feelings for Matt are absolutely real."

While Helena says she's seen Abbie's true colours, former frontrunner Elly Miles maintains that Abbie applied for the series in an attempt to boost her notoriety.
"At the time there were comments being made about going on Bachelor In Paradise and Abbie seemed keen. So I questioned whether she was here for the right reasons if she was already thinking about life without Matt on a different TV show," the fan favourite recently dished. "She was very vocal about wanting to appear on the program."
