But within minutes, Matt and Emma were covered in melted chocolate, sticking their fingers in each other's mouths and just engaging in general ick that we can't unsee.
"It's definitely getting hot and steamy," insisted Emma. "I can't seem to take my hands off Matt. And he's doing the same with me. So, I'm over the moon."
It's nothing personal, guys. Honest.
We're just feeling a teeny bit triggered at this point.
First it was Chelsie McLeod and the banana cake. Or... bread. Whatever, we all know it's the same thing, just a different shape, and both equally as delicious. These two were super cute on their cooking date, but ended up with batter all over both of them.
Then when Emma got her first date, there was food involved. And a blindfold. Which, to be fair, everyone must have thought was going to spell disaster, so we were honestly a little bit shocked when all the food made it to mouths and no-one needed to do a costume change.
Oh and there was the whole coffee-face-scrub incident hot date with Kristen Czyszek that gave us all legitimate flashbacks to Richie Strahan and Alex Nation's now infamous chocolate bath of 2016.
Luckily, after Matt and Emma presumably took a shower, the rest of the date was spent eating food rather than wearing it, and Emma confessed to Matt what she's been telling everyone else all along: she's totes falling in love.
"I want to take this time just to let you know, like, how I'm feeling. I'm so invested in this. I'm not treating this like a game or a competition. I'm at the stage in my life to take this next big step. I can definitely, you know, see you in my future."
And she also admitted she's ready to drop her life for him...
"It would be just a very easy transition for me. You know, having Melbourne on the cards and all the rest of it, like, I don't have any family ties here in Sydney. Career-wise it would make sense."
"I'm taking this so seriously."
We can see that, girl!
