The idea of Elly being booted from the show comes as a shock, especially considering there are rumours circulating that the blonde bombshell has a secret past with the 32-year-old. An on-set source recently told New Idea that the pair had not only crossed paths before filming, but they'd hooked up!
“Most of the girls knew Elly had a history with Matt and it caused a lot of tension in the house,” the insider dished.
After the contestants caught on, the source claimed they confronted the 24-year-old about her fling with the Matt, however, she was adamant the rumours weren't true.
“They eventually confronted her about it, and she denied the rumours, but everyone knew it had happened and started to despise her for having an unfair advantage. The whole thing really upset her.”
From the moment Matt and Elly locked eyes, it was clear there was already a spark. Not only did she win him over on the first night while toasting marshmallows by a fire, but in a Bachie first, she was gifted the Golden Ticket— an invitation back to Matt's hometown for a single date.
However, she sparked controversy last night when she took on the role of chief-confronter-of-Abbie and told Matt she didn't appreciate Abbie's "disrespectful" behaviour.
"I don't know how Matt's going to take this, but I'm hoping he sees that I just...I want what's best for him and I just want him to make the right decision," she explained in a piece to camera before stealing Matt away. "He needs to finally see Abbie for who she really is."
"What I really, like, need you to know is that I really like you and I'm here 110% for you and, like, you're a priority for me. I don't like talking ill about people but I just don't think Abbie is taking this thing very seriously... I don't know if she has the purest intentions."
"It's interesting to hear that Elly thinks that Abbie's got the wrong motivations for being here because Elly's not the first to suggest that," Matt pondered in a piece to camera, still not entirely convinced.
"I do appreciate you telling me... I imagine it is, it can be uncomfortable because these people you're living with, I get that."
After the frienemies had it out with each other, Matt told Fitzy and Wippa this morning that he's low key sick of everyone bashing Abbie.
"I think she was coming from a protective place," Matt said diplomatically. "I appreciate it but at this point of the process I want to focus on my relationships with the women instead of a game of he said, she said."
Perhaps Abbie wins his heart?
