At the same time and at the same RBT, police pulled over his girlfriend, NRL cheerleader Georgia Cook for a random breath test where she blew 0.83 and was charged with the same offence.
The judge also ordered Davey’s car be fitted with an alcohol interlock device for 12 months.
Speaking outside court on October 16, Davey issued a public apology.
“I’ve got to live with having the interlock now and I’m going to take this as a blessing in disguise and tell all of my friends and family how easy it is to get caught,” he said.
“I’m very sorry and it will never happen again. I will use this time wisely to reflect.”
“I’d actually been at an event with dinner, over three hours, and the drinks, it was a stupid mistake. I had four but they were actually 1.8 standard drinks. It was by accident and I never knew that. But it’s so easy to be misled.”
