As she said farewell to Brooke and drove away from the rose ceremony, Jamie-Lee said she was grateful for her time on the show despite being heartbroken.
"It's not how I saw things going," she said as she wiped away tears.
"But if I didn't come here and explore this with Brooke then I wouldn't have been able to close this chapter," she continued.
"I'm sad it's ended this way, but it just wasn't meant to be."
After the episode aired, Jamie-Lee shared a beautiful message with fans about her time on the show and her love for Brooke.
"It’s hard to say I’m heartbroken, because my heart is so full of love. This may not have been how I envisioned things turn out and I may not have found my person, but I’ve enjoyed every moment of this wild ride," she wrote on Instagram.
"I believe to my core that things turned out exactly how they should. Losing the girl I loved to an incredible guy like Darvid made things a tiny bit easier. Wishing the happy couple all the love in the world."
Isn't that the most wonderful message?
From the very first episode, Jamie-Lee's connection with Brooke was clear. Having met when they were both on Nick Cummins' season of The Bachelor Australia, the ladies later became close friends.
They say relationships are all about timing and chemistry. While Jamie-Lee and Brooke have always had clear chemistry, their timing simply wasn't meant to be a few year's ago. Taking another shot at romance with Brooke now, Jamie-Lee came close to winning but ultimately lost out to Darvid.
"All I've ever wanted is her and now I'm here, I'm so close," Jamie-Lee said in the episode, revealing to Brooke's pals that she didn't think she would be able to return to being just friends with Brooke if she lost.
"I would have to back away from the friendship [if I lost], but it’s worth potentially having my heartbroken because there is a chance I could get something beautiful," she said. "I don’t know how to go from being in love with someone to being their friend."
Sending all our love to Jamie-Lee after the emotional finale.
