While she says she doesn't regret walking away (and later returning), the 25-year-old did agree that she was being a tad dramatic!
"I was like, 'Okay, maybe I'm reading this completely wrong'," she said, referring to her conversation with Matt in which he expressed his true feelings for her. "Because if he wasn't interested in me, he could have just walked away and made things easier for himself. But he came back twice, so I thought I may as well fight these thoughts that I'm having, and just follow my heart".
After making an unexpected appearance at the rose ceremony, Matt ended up picking Helena over Emma, meaning the brand manager was unfortunately sent packing. Although the unlucky in love Bachelorette was pretty chill about leaving the mansion, she'd been harbouring some resentment.
According to a Bachie insider, Emma was so peeved they made her look like last year's stage five clinger, Cass Wood, that she demanded all of her scenes be completely re-edited!
"She felt completely cheated and stitched up with how she's been made to look in the edit and pleaded with them to change future episodes," an on-set insider told New Idea.
As expected, that was not going to fly with the network so instead, they tried to ship her off to Ireland— a country she called home eight years ago.
"It was suggested she could return to Ireland for a while until everything blew over, and bosses were happy to pay for her flights," the insider alleged.
It's no secret the brand manager has long been disappointed with how she was portrayed on this season of the popular dating show. After the second episode aired and fans had already made up their mind about her, Emma took to Instagram to slam the network, claiming they made her look far needier than she actually was!
"Terrible editing! Love, Love, love" she wrote. "DO NOT believe everything you see 'reality'."
Although her former co-star Rachel Arahill said at the time that "Emma was far too clingy" she's adamant she's nowhere near as desperate as Cass Wood was.
"Cass is a beautiful girl, but I’m nothing like her," Emma said. "I definitely don't want to come across as Cass whatsoever."
