However, in her own words, "it wasn't meant to be," and we saw that in tonight's episode as she waved goodbye to Nick and the other ladies in the house. Now in a candid interview with WHO, Shannon Baff opens up about her ongoing battle with depression, how she's coping since leaving the house, and whether she has any regrets from her time in the Bachie Mansion!
WHO: You bravely announced that you had been struggling with depression and anxiety while living in the mansion. Tell us more about your experience?
Shannon: I want to add a bit of light to that situation. I think what I did was internalised a lot of what was going on in the house. There was a lot of pressure having the first date and then watching all the girls go on dates and being their support system. You create such good bonds with people. I think its pretty normal to struggle a bit with so many people in the house but I want ashamed to talk about that.
WHO: How have you been going since leaving the show?
Shannon: I’ve been great, I’m back to work. It’s been good. I have taken so much from my time there and I was blessed to have been able to learn so much.
WHO: Do you think you left at the right time?
Shannon: I think the universe works in certain ways and I feel like if my time was ready to expire that’s the way it was meant to be.
WHO: You were the first woman in the house to go on a date! Do you think not kissing Nick held you back?
Shannon: Look, there’s nothing I could have done differently. We were both pretty nervous on that first date, there was a lot of pressure, I don’t think Nick had done that before. I look back at the episodes now and I see how intimate he is with all the kisses, and I think that’s the way it was meant to be
WHO: Do you have any regrets?
Shannon: I went in for the experience and I promised I would stay true to who I am and I approached it in the most genuine way I could. I can’t look back with any regrets because that’s the way it went. I wouldn’t change anything because the experience has taught me so much which I’m very happy with.
