Galeries Lafayette Christmas tree, Paris, France
Seven weeks before the big day, American actress Jessica Chastain was given the honour of lighting the 35-metre tree that lies in the heart of Galeries Lafayette’s central court. This year's theme is green and gold glitter and is sponsored by luxury watchmaker Piaget. Millions have already gathered to admire its beauty, along with the imaginary creatures that hang from the ceiling.
Last year's theme was 'Spectacular, Spectacular,' like the movie, and the tree was created from inflatable candy and doughnuts.
