Eagle-eyed fans cited Kris Jenner and Kourtney Kardashian's blasé attitudes towards what was a heartbreaking scandal as evidence that something was amiss at the on-screen meeting and decided to do a little digging.
They discovered that the black jumpsuit worn by Kourtney in the scene was the same one she wore while getting dinner with her then-fiancé, Travis Barker, and their kids on January 31.
And while it’s unlikely Kourt would be seen repeating an outfit, the devil was in the detail – she had the same chrome nail art in the scene that she did at the dinner, even though the two events supposedly took place a whole month apart.
Another clue was Kim Kardashian’s raging reaction to the cheating, which didn’t match that of her family.
Around the alleged filming date in January, her ex-husband Kanye West was just ramping up his weeks-long public tirade against her current boyfriend, Pete Davidson, leading us to question what Kim was really angry about when they filmed that scene.
All told it seems pretty obvious that the scene was faked - likely because cameras weren't available at, or invited to, the real family meeting.
Khloé later seemed to confirm that the scenes weren't, ahem, entirely true to life when she appeared on Hot Ones with Sean Evans and was asked if she noticed editing fails in reality TV shows.
“It’s not that those things didn’t happen, but sometimes they didn’t catch the audio or sometimes the mics go out,” she said.
“I understand that a lot of [the scenes] really might be how it was, but they might just have to redo something or transition to things... I’m really aware of those things.”

This isn’t the first time The Kardashians has fallen prey to internet sleuths and dodgy editing, with fans also pointing out a major problem in an earlier episode regarding Kendall Jenner.
In the episode, the family celebrated Kris Jenner’s 66th birthday on November 5th, but special mention was made of Kendall’s absence. She was shown to be in Miami hanging out with her good friend, Hailey Bieber.
In reality, Kendall was actually at Texas music festival Astroworld on November 5th, along with her sister, Kylie Jenner, and Kylie’s boyfriend, Travis Scott, who was performing at the festival.
Tragedy struck during Travis’s set, with 10 people dying in a crowd stampede. Since then, multiple lawsuits have arisen against Travis for his alleged involvement in the deaths, so it’s no wonder the production team wanted to keep it out of the show.
Despite the occasional gaping plot hole, fans have really taken to The Kardashians, which is essentially an updated version of Keeping Up With The Kardashians made for American streaming service Hulu.
The series has been renewed for another two seasons, and given the constant hustle of the family, we'd be surprised if they weren't already filming their next episodes.
