Jackie O admitted she didn’t know the ins and outs of the casting process, before revealing that producers “cast the net far... they cast the net to everyone, and they just see what comes back.”
The TV and radio host went on to reveal that despite even if a celebrity has a “high profile”, if they “can't really sing, they're not going to be able to do it”.
“They do want it to be entertaining and enjoyable, but [the contestants] need to have some sort of voice.”
After making its debut on Australian televisions last year, Jackie O says producers were “spoilt for choice” when it came time to cast their stars in 2020.
“They had a lot of people who they couldn't get last year because it was an unknown show.
“There are people doing it this year that I never would've thought would do it, and it's just because they love the show and want to do something fun.”
Tennis star Mark Philippoussis and retired cricketer Michael Bevan have already been unmasked on the competition, with just 10 singers remaining.
And Jackie O has teased that while she can’t give too much away, there are plenty of big names to come.
