The Channel 10 series will see Aussie celebrities performing anonymously in elaborate costumes designed by Hwang Jae-geun (including lion, dragon, octopus, monster, wolf, unicorn and prawn costumes) as viewers and a panel of star-studded judges attempt to guess their identity.
Lindsay Lohan will join Dannii Minogue, Jackie O'Henderson and Dave Hughes as celebrity judges on The Masked Singer.
According to New Idea, mum-of-one Dannii is said to be furious that U.S star Lindsay, 33, is getting paid so much for her part in the new Network Ten show.
“Dannii wasn’t told Lindsay would be her co-judge and she’s being paid twice what Dannii is making,” spills a source.
Furthermore, the publication reports that the 47-year-old is somewhat miffed that the American actress will be judging an Aussie talent show.
“How will Lindsay Lohan know how to recognise an Aussie masked singing voice? The whole premise of the show is trying to pick the masked Aussie singer! ” the source said.
“[fellow judges] Dave Hughes and Jackie O think it is hysterical, as Lindsay dramas will deliver to their top-rating radio shows.”
Twelve celebrity contestants will compete in Australia's first run of the international game show franchise - which was a huge success in the United States and Korea.
The series was filmed over two weeks at Fox Studios in Sydney and is expected to air on Channel Ten later this year.
