A royal insider has told Express.co.uk that Prince Philip’s cheeky sense of humour very nearly caused him to come to blows with his wife after he hid her beloved pet corgis as a joke to entertain a dinner guest.
“Philip hid a corgi in a desk cupboard and when the Queen asked him where it was, he said he didn’t know,” the insider spilled.

“But then the dog whined after hearing the Queen’s voice, so Philip let it out and it ran to her.”
According to the source, the less-than-impressed Monarch sharply told her husband to “stop showing off to guests.”
Unperturbed, when the Queen left the room Philip is said to have remarked to his guest: “Who does she think she is?”
