Both William and Kate were forced to visit their nephew in the evening due to prior engagements in the day, so it would most likely have been too late for George, five, Charlotte, four and Louis, 13 months to make the one hour journey from London to Frogmore Cottage in Windsor, reports Hello Magazine.
The fact that George and Charlotte would have been attending school the next morning is also another factor to consider.
It is not unusual for younger members of the royal family to meet new additions to the family until a later stage – in fact, Prince George didn’t meet his cousin, Mia Tindall until she was two months old.
