What is The Summer I Turned Pretty season three about?
Warning: Spoilers ahead!
While The Summer I Turned Pretty author Jenny Han has alluded to some potential changes in the overall storyline, the exact details for season three have yet to be confirmed.
Luckily, the third instalment in the book series, We'll Always Have Summer, does give us a rough idea of what's to come for Belly, Conrad, and Jeremiah.
The third book kicks off two years after the infamous motel scene, with Belly and Jeremiah now studying together at Finch University.
Belly and Jeremiah's relationship appears to be picture perfect until Belly attends a party at Jeremiah's fraternity and one of his friends lets slip that he cheated on Belly while on spring break in Cabo.
To prove his commitment to their relationship, Jeremiah proposes to Belly and they begin the process of planning their wedding at the Fisher's Cousins Beach house.
Although both Belly and Jeremiah's family don't approve of their nuptials, they continue with their wedding planning, with all appearing to be going smoothly until Conrad reappears in Belly's life.
Throughout the book, Belly and Conrad share a handful of tender moments, with Belly admitting to herself early on that she still has feelings for Conrad despite her relationship with Jeremiah.
In an emotional exchange the night before the wedding, Conrad confesses that he is still in love with Belly; telling her that he only gave Jeremiah his blessing because he believed he wouldn't be able to be there for Belly while he was dealing with his grief.
On the day of the wedding, Belly confesses to Jeremiah that she is still in love with Conrad and the wedding gets called off.
The book then jumps forward a few years, with a now 24-year-old Belly getting ready to start life with her new husband Conrad Fisher.
Who is the cast of The Summer I Turned Pretty season three?
Based on the latest behind-the-scenes snaps, it has been confirmed that Lola Tung, Christopher Briney, and Gavin Casalegno are returning as the beloved Belly, Conrad, and Jeremiah.
Belly's brother Steven and mother Laurel, played by Sean Kaufman and Jackie Chung, are also confirmed to be returning for The Summer I Turned Pretty season three.
Belly's best friend Taylor, played by Rain Spencer, has also been spotted on set alongside the cast.
Season three is also slated to welcome a bunch of new characters into the mix, with Belly's college friends Anika Johnson and Jillian Capel set to make an appearance early on in the season.
When is The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 3 coming out?
After months of waiting, The Summer I Pretty season three release date was finally confirmed, with the series slated for release in "Summer 2025."
In the announcement, it was also revealed that the final instalment of Belly, Conrad, and Jeremiah's story will be expanded from the typical eight episodes to a super-sized 11-episode season.
Sadly for fans eagerly awaiting the next chapter in Belly's love story, the 2025 release date comes as a result of an extended delay in production due to the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike, however, it has since been confirmed that filming has now commenced.
While it was officially revealed in May 2024 that production was underway on season three, fans close to the filming locations began sharing behind-the-scenes snaps on social media as early as March 2024, with the franchise's cast and production crew being frequently spotted around Wilmington, North Carolina.
